Un brillamento solare di classe X1.6 è esploso questo pomeriggio. L’eruzione è stata scaturita dalla regione attiva 2158, la stessa che nella giornata di ieri aveva prodotto il flare di classe M4.5. L’evento è iniziato alle 17:21, ha raggiunto il suo apice alle 17:45 e si è concluso alle 18:20.
Il forte brillamento solare ha anche generato un’espulsione di massa coronale (CME) e una parte di esso è diretto verso il nostro pianeta.
E’ previsto raggiungere la Terra nella nottata di domani dopo la mezzanotte.
Un tipo II (velocità di 3750 km/s) e Tipo di emissioni radio IV sono stati associati con l’evento. Emissioni di tipo IV si verificano in associazione con importanti eruzioni solari e sono in genere associati con delle forti espulsioni di massa coronale e tempeste di radiazioni solari.
Il flare non dovrebbe comunque causare grossi problemi alle apparecchiature elettroniche e ai satelliti.
